The 1st batch of the NutriShakti Program, implemented in collaboration with Nishtha Foods, is scheduled to be completed in the next two weeks. It is a three-month training program and the initiative equips women with skills in nutritious food production, entrepreneurship, branding, and marketing, enabling them to establish and manage community-based nutrition enterprises.
Currently, 20 women are enrolled in the first batch, undergoing training in product development, entrepreneurship, business skills, and hands-on practice. As the first batch nears completion, efforts are underway to enrol participants for the second batch.
For the second batch, we are placing greater emphasis on engaging younger girls and women, with the aim of providing them with early exposure to nutrition, food production, entrepreneurship, and livelihood opportunities. In parallel, we are also exploring a dedicated marketing training component for young boys from the community who are interested in developing marketing skills and exploring opportunities to learn and earn.
The Nutri-Garden Phase II Campaign was launched on 2 June 2026 at Jasdan to promote nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and household Nutri-Gardens among rural women. The launch brought together 200+ women from 10 villages, encouraging them to grow safe, fresh, and nutritious vegetables at home. The campaign aims to reach 35% of the population in the target villages, expand Nutri-Garden adoption, and strengthen household nutrition and sustainable food systems.
Building on the campaign, in this quartner, saw continued community mobilisation and technical support across the 10 villages, with 1,492 women engaged and trained, 1,484 household Nutri-Gardens completed, and 8 new Ganga-Ma Model Nutri-Gardens developed. Activities focused on organic composting, pest management, seasonal vegetables, harvesting, peer learning and regular household visits. An exposure visit was organised for 68 women, while 11 schools were engaged through interactive activities on nutrition, healthy eating, seasonal vegetables and school Nutri-Gardens, including discussions on linking garden produce with the Mid-Day Meal.
65 women, led by Devuben Pandya, President of Information Trust of Dholera taluka of Ahmedabad district, paid an exposure visit to the Nutrigarden developed by WIN Foundation and Centre for Environment Education (CEE) in Jasdan taluka.
