Nutrition Projects with CEE - Macharda

On 5th May, the newly constructed Khakhra Production Unit at Machharda village, Kalawad Block, was inaugurated in the presence of the NABARD District Development Manager (DDM), representatives from Apraava Energy, WIN Foundation, the Village Sarpanch, and Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC). The event was facilitated by CEE. The new facility has expanded the production capacity from accommodating 20–25 women to 35–40 women, creating greater livelihood opportunities for rural women.

Nutritious product-making training sessions are currently underway, and the project is expected to generate meaningful livelihood and entrepreneurship outcomes from its first phase. In the coming month, the project will enter Phase 2, with a focus on training a larger number of young girls and women from the community in nutritious food production and entrepreneurship. The project also plans to introduce technology-enabled online training through video conferencing, enabling wider outreach and access to skill development opportunities.

Nutrishakti Enterprise Model:  

The NutriShakti Enterprise Model with Nishtha Enterprise was inaugurated on 10 July 2026, marking an important milestone in empowering NutriPreneurs through sustainable livelihood opportunities. The initiative equips women with skills in nutritious food production, entrepreneurship, branding, and market linkages, enabling them to establish and manage community-based nutrition enterprises. The model promotes local employment while improving access to healthy, affordable food and strengthening community nutrition. Nineteen women have enrolled in the three-month training programme. Alongside the ongoing training, efforts will focus on engaging more young girls and women from the community, creating a larger pool of skilled entrepreneurs and ensuring sustainable livelihood opportunities for the future.

Nutri Garden Phase -II Campaign : 

The Nutri Garden Phase II Campaign was launched on 2 June 2026 at Satrang Dham, Satrang Village, Jasdan Taluka, Gujarat, with the objective of promoting nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and household Nutri Gardens among rural women. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 200 women from 10 villages, who were encouraged to grow safe, fresh, and nutritious vegetables in their own backyards. A unique highlight of the programme was the traditional seed rangoli created using indigenous seeds brought by participants from their respective villages, showcasing rich local biodiversity and strong community participation. The campaign marks the beginning of Phase II, which aims to expand the adoption of Nutri Gardens and strengthen household nutrition and sustainable food systems across the region. Launched National level school Nutri-garden competition : 

The National Nutri-Garden School Competition 2026 launched in association with VASCC May'26 promotes nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and experiential learning by encouraging schools across India to establish chemical-free Nutri-Gardens using eco-friendly practices. Open to students from Std. 3 to 12, the initiative connects classroom learning with soil health, nutrition, and environmental sustainability while fostering STEM skills, leadership, teamwork, and community participation. Out of nearly 200 applications, 95 schools qualified, and 66 schools were shortlisted for implementation. Each selected school will receive ₹1,500 along with technical guidance, training, and mentoring to develop and maintain their Nutri-Garden, with progress monitored for innovation, sustainability, and student engagement.

Parallel to the national initiative, WIN Foundation is also organizing the Gujarat State Nutri-Garden School Competition in collaboration with ACT (Kutch Region), CEE (Jamnagar and Rajkot Regions), and Atul Foundation (Valsad Region). The competition has received over 50 applications from schools across Gujarat. Participating schools will establish and maintain Nutri-Gardens, with progress being closely monitored by the partner organizations. The evaluation will focus on innovation, sustainability, student participation, and the overall impact of the gardens, recognizing outstanding schools that demonstrate excellence in promoting nutrition, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning. 

WIN Nutrition Online Course: Swasth Aahar, Swasth Parivar, Swasth Bharat

The WIN Foundation continues its digital nutrition awareness initiative through the "Swasth Aahar, Swasth Parivar, Swasth Bharat" Nutrition Course, aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and improving nutrition knowledge among the community.

So far, seven educational videos have been published on the WIN Foundation YouTube channel, covering practical topics such as balanced diets, portion control, healthy cooking practices, hydration, and other essential nutrition concepts.

In parallel, we are also running a dedicated Healthy Recipe Demonstration playlist, featuring simple, nutritious, and easy-to-prepare recipes that encourage the adoption of healthier food choices using locally available ingredients.

INNOVATION :  

To promote sustainable livelihood opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship among women, farmers, and rural youth, WIN Foundation, in collaboration with NEWWAY Biotech Pvt. Ltd., organized an Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Awareness Webinar on 11 July 2026. The webinar aimed to introduce participants to oyster mushroom cultivation as a low-investment, high-potential enterprise and to connect them with technical experts and experienced growers.

WIN Foundation has submitted its documentary, "Seeds of Change," to the upcoming 15th Arogya Festival. The film highlights the Foundation's initiatives and their  transformative impact on community health, nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, and water security. Through inspiring stories from the field, the documentary showcases how WIN Foundation's integrated approach is empowering communities and fostering long-term positive change.
