National Nutri-Garden School Competition 2026
WIN Foundation, in collaboration with VASCSC, successfully launched the National Nutri-Garden School Competition 2026 in the month of May'26 to promote nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and experiential learning among students. The initiative encouraged schools across India to establish chemical-free Nutri-Gardens using eco-friendly practices and helped students understand the connection between soil health, agriculture, nutrition, and human well-being. Open to students from Std. 3 to 12, the competition also fostered STEM learning, leadership, teamwork, and community participation while providing selected schools with technical guidance and opportunities for national recognition.
The response to the competition has been highly encouraging, with approximately 200 applications received from schools across India. Following a rigorous screening process, 95 schools qualified, and 66 schools have been shortlisted for the implementation phase. Each shortlisted school will receive financial support of ₹1,500 to establish a Nutri-Garden, along with periodic training, technical mentoring, and guidance throughout the programme. The gardens will be monitored over the coming months to assess innovation, sustainability, student engagement, and their contribution to nutrition education.
The National Award Ceremony is planned for December 2026, where outstanding schools from different categories will be recognized for their exemplary efforts in creating sustainable, educational, and nutrition-sensitive school gardens.

Parallel to the national initiative, WIN Foundation is also organizing the Gujarat State Nutri-Garden School Competition in collaboration with ACT (Kutch Region), CEE (Jamnagar and Rajkot Regions), and Atul Foundation (Valsad Region). The competition has received over 50 applications from schools across Gujarat. Participating schools will establish and maintain Nutri-Gardens, with progress being closely monitored by the partner organizations. The evaluation will focus on innovation, sustainability, student participation, and the overall impact of the gardens, recognizing outstanding schools that demonstrate excellence in promoting nutrition, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning.

Inauguration of the Expanded Khakhra Production Unit at Machharda
On 5 May 2026, a significant milestone was achieved under the women’s livelihood initiative with the inauguration of the newly constructed Khakhra Production Unit at Machharda Village, Kalawad Block, Jamnagar District. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the NABARD District Development Manager (DDM), representatives from Apraava Energy, the WIN Foundation team, the Village Sarpanch, representatives from the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC), and members of the local community. The event was successfully coordinated and facilitated by the Centre for Environment Education (CEE).
The new production facility marks a major step towards strengthening women-led rural enterprises. While the earlier unit accommodated around 20–25 women, the newly established facility has the capacity to engage 35–40 women comfortably, providing a better working environment and significantly expanding livelihood opportunities for women in the village. The upgraded infrastructure will enable increased production, improved efficiency, and greater participation of women in income-generating activities.
Following the inauguration, participants interacted with the women entrepreneurs, observed the production process, and appreciated the progress made under the initiative. The event highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between corporate partners, development organizations, government agencies, and local communities in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women.

Nutri Garden Phase -II Campaign - Launch Event organised by CEE
Satrang Dham, Satrang Village, Jasdan Taluka, Gujarat on 2nd June 26
The objective of the event was to enhance awareness among rural women about nutrition, promote healthy lifestyles, and motivate them to establish Nutri Gardens (Kitchen Gardens) at their homes. The Programme encouraged women to grow vegetables in their own backyards, enabling access to safe, nutritious, and fresh food for their families.
More than 200 women actively participated in the event. A notable aspect of the Programme was the participation of women from approximately 10 villages, reflecting strong community engagement and enthusiasm. Women brought a variety of traditional seeds from their villages and collectively created beautiful seed rangolis representing their respective villages. This activity served as an excellent example of community participation and local biodiversity conservation.

On 11 July 2026, WIN Foundation, in collaboration with NEWWAY Biotech Pvt. Ltd., organised an Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Awareness Webinar that brought together 56 participants, including women, farmers, entrepreneurs, and rural youth. The webinar highlighted oyster mushroom cultivation as a low-investment, high-potential livelihood opportunity. Mr. Paresh Vora introduced WIN Foundation's initiatives, followed by a technical session by Mr. Sagar Patel of NEWWAY Biotech, who explained the cultivation process, investment requirements, and income potential. A practicing mushroom grower also shared real-life experiences, inspiring participants with practical insights and success stories. The interactive webinar generated strong interest in hands-on training and reinforced the commitment of WIN Foundation and NEWWAY Biotech to promoting sustainable livelihoods and rural entrepreneurship.

Oyster.pptxWIN Foundation is proud to continue as the Nutrition & Health Category Partner for the upcoming National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) 2026 organised by National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC), a worldwide competition to attract, identify, and nurture bio-entrepreneurs working on novel and scalable business ideas with significant societal impact. Applicants compete for attractive cash prizes and investment opportunities . As in previous years, the competition received an overwhelming response from innovators across India, showcasing cutting-edge ideas in nutrition and healthcare.
Following the initial screening, around 10 promising startups were shortlisted for the evaluation session scheduled in July 2026. The selected innovators will present their solutions before an expert jury, with the most outstanding ventures advancing to the Grand Finale in September 2026. Through its continued partnership with NBEC, WIN Foundation remains committed to promoting innovation and supporting entrepreneurs developing impactful solutions for better health and nutrition.
